A Gift to the Montessori School of the Finger Lakes

Giving is essential to the growth and support of our school. Tuition is not they only income necessary to keep our school in good fiscal health. This is accomplished through generous donations from people like you.
Do you or a member of your family wish to make a donation to the school? All donations no matter the size will be greatly appreciated and used in a way that will never be forgotten. We are so proud of the long term effects of our pre-school through elementary curriculum. Truly, early education is vitally important and every year we see our students blossom into vibrant learners.
Could your family help us meet the future? We would love to discuss various ways of contributing to our endowment fund, to scholarships, or to the purchase of a building. There are many ways in which you can invest in the future of the Montessori School of the Finger Lakes.

Outright Gifts

Gifts made by check are simple and the most popular. If mailed, make sure your check and envelope are dated or postmarked by December 31st of the year in which you wish to take the tax deduction.

Matching Gifts

Many employers will match the contributions which employees, sometimes even retired employees, make to recognized IRS philanthropic and educational group. You can double, sometimes triple, your gift through a matching gift program! Simply enclose the company’s matching gift form along with your check.

Appreciated Securities

A gift of appreciated securities brings the donor greater tax savings than gifts of cash. It also offers the donor two significant tax advantages: 1. You avoid paying capital gains on the increased value of the stock; 2. you receive a charitable deduction for the full fair market value of the stock when the gift is made. In order to do this, your stock generally must have been held long-term, more than one year.

Gifts In Kind

We welcome donations such as computers, office furniture, classroom supplies, landscape materials, athletic equipment, musical instruments, art work and any other items related to the educational program.
For an exceptionally large endowment we would name the school in honor of your family or loved ones. In addition we would name our scholarship funds for significant contributions.
We are tax exempt and all donations are deductable. Please give some thought to the joy it would give your family to see decades of students benefit in the name of your loved one. Let us know if you are willing to consider a special donation.

The Montessori Method is based on these three main premises:
